A Melancholy Christmas

2020 Was a challenging year for all of us and particularly at Christmas many people I knew were beginning to feel the weight of a challenging year bearing down on them.

When we were putting a Christmas card together that year we were looking for something that both captured the zeitgeist but contained optimism and seasonal warmth to bring a smile to those who received it. In that spirit we illustrated a card that shows people making the most of their Christmas in a way that was safe to do so. The card is animated: the homes illuminate and one by one and one by one we’re back to lights out.
