Our Tamworth Manifesto

We produced the imagery for the competition winning entry for the new South Staffordshire College campus in Tamworth. The proposal contains two elements the college building and a new square, knitting the previously divided urban fabric together. The new building acts a counterpoint to the 9th century Saxon church: St Editha’s.

The public square seeks to organise the urban spaces by drawing upon the language of medieval land boundaries typically referred to as Burgage plots. The new college building draws on the levels and rhythms of the existing streetscape and roof patterns of the market town.

This project was undertaken with Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt in 2020
